The GCardPha lab has been created in 1993 in Department of Pharmacology under the scientific guidance of Professor Dennis Cokkinos and Constantinos Pantos.

This laboratory has developed experimental techniques and models that simulate clinical conditions and can therefore be tools for solving clnical problems in Cardiology, Cardiac Surgery and beyond. These capabilities have allowed the study of new pharmacological interventions that can reduce heart injury and protect it in various pathological conditions. Today, the scientific coordiantor of the lab is Associate Professor I. Mourouzis.
